The Importance Of Remembrance
Physically, you do things with your hands and legs. In spirit, your hands and legs are intention and attention. That means that you do things simply by deciding to do it. Once you decide, it is done. That is how motion at will is possible. You just decide where you want to be and you are there.
Again, you do things by attention, by paying attention to what you want to do, by focusing your mind on what you want to be done, by concentration. If you wnat to get to a mountain top, all you have to do is place your attention on the mountain top.
You can now understand why God is always laying emphasis on the heart, on the spirit, and not on the body.
Bible Emphasis On Remembrance
- 6 So it was, when they came, that he looked at Eliab and said, "Surely the LORD's anointed is before Him!"
7 But the LORD said to Samuel,” Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." 1 Sam 16:6-7
- 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. Jer 29:13-14
- For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. And where your heart is, there you are (there you are present!) Matthew 6:21
- "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.” Ex 20:8 For God knew before hand that time shall come when people and churches shall start giving reasons on why the Sabbath should not be observed. The only solution is to remember that God said we should keep the Sabbath day.
- This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Josh 1:8
- Your word I have hidden in my heart,
That I might not sin against You.
Ps 119:11
- Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer. Ps 19:14
- Lift up your heads, O you gates! (hearts of men)
And be lifted up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The LORD strong and mighty,
The LORD mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, O you gates!
Lift up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The LORD of hosts,
He is the King of glory. Ps 24:7-10
- And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me." Luke 22:19
- My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
Because you have rejected knowledge,
I also will reject you from being priest for Me;
Because you have forgotten the law of your God,
I also will forget your children. Hos 4:6
The Benefits Of Remembrance
You gain several benefits by remembering God always. Whenever you remember God,:
- You connect directly with Him. Hence, for those who worship God in spirit and in truth, you do not need to go to the temple or mountain before God will hear your prayers. He hears your prayers wherever you are.
- You connect to and utilize the omnipotence, omniscience and omnipresence of God. Then, whatever you do is no longer yourself working, but God Himself working in you and through you.
- Your actions, services and properties become full of the powers of the Holy Spirit. Hnadkerchieves taken from St Paul were able to heal the sick because the spirit and power of St Paul was in those handkerchieves. Also, the woman of issue of blood was healed just by touching the fringe of Jesus' garment because the spirit and power of Jesus was in the garment.
- Yourself become full of the Holy Spirit. You must have observed that the Saints appear holy, decent, quiet, peaceful, calm, confident, bright and wise. It is simply because they are always conscious of God. Therefore, the Holy Spirit fills them with the divine qualities.
- You are in the presence of God. We are in His presence always, just as we are in the presence of the sun everyday.
- The evil spirits flee away from your presence. You may have noticed that evil doers shy away from your presence. All evils are usually committed in darkness. You presence is the presence of the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit is light, the brightness of God reaching all the ends of the universe.
- We often say that an idle mind is the Devil's workshop. An idle mind is an empty mind, a heart without aim. In other words, to keep the evil spirits away, you have to occupy your heart with God, by remembering Him.
- Jesus said that wherever your treasure is, there your heart is. And I add that wherever your heart is, there you are.
- You grow in spirit and in truth. Those who are religious are usually more honest than those who are not.
- The seven spiritual centers in your body open up and blossom. You begin to say the truth without somebody teaching you; you begin to prophesy without being a prophet; you begin to read people's mind without using an eye glass; your counsel- suggestions, recommendations and ideas - become timely, useful and meaningful. You become a wonderful counsellor.
- You begin to overcome the world.
- You begin to attain heaven, rise in spirit, such that at death it is easy for you to go to heaven. Those who do not remember God are pulle ddown to the lower regions of darkness and sufferings. If you are always thinking about the world, you become worldly. Thereby, you bind yourself to the world. That is the beginning of purgatory. God has no purgatory. God has only heaven and hell. people that piut themselves in the purgatorian state. And it must be discouraged. For example, if you believe that when you die, you have to remain in the grave waiting for the day of ressurrection, you pin yourself down in the grave. It is both terrible and unnecessary.
- If you are consistent and persistent, you begin to visit the heavenly kingdoms.
- You begin to experience God in different manifestations. The main reason why people are not seeing God is because they are out of tune with God. Only those who tune in to a televsion station can see what is happening on the television. And unknown to the masses, most of the religious beliefs and practices are deceptions by the enemy. - Many are busy practising man-made doctrines, thinking that they can please God by so doing. And what is man-made doctrine if not misleading tricks of the Devil. God says what should be done, and your pastor or reverend changes it to a different thing and begin to give you reasons why you should continue doing what he said instead of doing what God said. This is sheer madness and foolishness, which lead to everlasting doom.
For example, Jesus said wash the feet of everybody, but your reverend turns it into washing the feet of only 12 persons and leaves others to perish. Assuming a church has 12,000 memebers and the reverend washes the feet of only 12 persons. That means that he has scored only 12 over 12,000 (or 1 over 1,000, which is not up to 1%. A person who scored 1%, has he passed or failed?) The worst thing is that people do not even know when they are being deceived. Be warned!
Jesus said give them bread and wine, but they take bread and wine and give you only bread.
God said if you enter a room in which there is corpse or if you touch a corpse, do not enter the temple/church until after seven days. Instead of doing what God said, they go and bring the corpse into the churches and holy places.
16 Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another,
And the LORD listened and heard them;
So a book of remembrance was written before Him
For those who fear the LORD
And who meditate on His name.
17 "They shall be Mine," says the LORD of hosts,
"On the day that I make them My jewels.
And I will spare them
As a man spares his own son who serves him."
18 Then you shall again discern
Between the righteous and the wicked,
Between one who serves God
And one who does not serve Him.
Malachi 3:16-18
32 And it shall come to pass
That whoever calls on the name of the LORD
Shall be saved.
Joel 2:32
